Elders are referenced in 1 Timothy 3:2, 'Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach".

Deacons are referenced in 1 Timothy 3:8, "Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain.".
